About The Role
We’re seeking a Recycling Operative to join our team and help us deliver a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible service. Whether you’re experienced or looking for an entry-level opportunity with long-term development, we welcome your application. You will play an important role in maintaining a safe, well‑run site and supporting our commitment to high standards of environmental performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Keeping accurate records of material movements and all on-site activities.
- Coordinating container exchanges by booking loads with relevant contacts to ensure smooth operations and correct segregation of materials.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised site environment.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and supporting SUEZ R&R policies and procedures.
- Carrying out first aider and fire warden duties (training provided).
- You may also be asked to carry out additional reasonable tasks within the scope of the role.
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, safety‑conscious and committed to high standards. You’ll succeed in this role if you can bring:
- A positive, team‑focused attitude with a willingness to develop a full understanding of the site licence/permit.
- A commitment to ongoing personal development, including learning waste acceptance procedures and the operation/maintenance of site equipment.
- Basic administrative skills for recording data using SUEZ R&R UK systems.
- You will be expected to achieve certificates to operate various types of plant and work a weighbridge (PC).
- You will be based at St Erth Waste Transfer Station but will be expected to help cover Hallenbeagle Transfer Station (Scorrier, Redruth) should need arise.
- Bank holidays are worked with exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
