Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be one of our specialists in electrical systems, across our energy and material recovery facilities. This is a hybrid role with a mixture of office and onsite work, you'll spend around ~40% of your time travelling (on average 2-3 days per week with overnight stays) to provide project and operational support.
Your role will cover:
- Delivering technical expertise in electrical design, HV systems, and I&C within industrial and power-generating environments.
- Supporting project lifecycles: from developing specifications, design reviews, and modelling with tools like ETAP/Trimble, to hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Driving improvements in operational reliability, compliance, and performance across multiple plants.
- Acting as a go-to engineer for breakdowns, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
The Electrical Engineer position allows for the option of being based at any of our locations with suitable capacity.
Internally this role is called Technical Plant Engineer – Electrical.
What will you need, what can you gain?
- A background in electrical engineering within process, power, electrical design or heavy industry.
- HNC or higher in electrical Engineering (degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Demonstratable experience of working in an electrical engineering background
- Proven engineering experience within a technical role with transferable skills
- Experience in electrical design
- A good understanding of high voltage (11KV) systems, previous HV authorisation would be advantages
- Project management experience
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation &Control systems.
- Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving.
- Experience with electrical design and system modelling software
