About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, with mechanical bias, in our Energy Recovery facility based in Avonmouth, you will provide reactive and planned maintenance for all mechanical plant. You will also offer cross-functional support to other team members as needed. Your responsibilities include performing maintenance activities to the highest standard, ensuring excellent housekeeping, maintaining records within the computer maintenance management system (CMMS), and updating documentation to reflect plant modifications. You will be part of a 24-hour callout rota and may assist other SUEZ sites when required. You may be asked to cover for a colleague or attend specific training, with compensation at 1.5x overtime rate, increasing to 2x on Sundays and 3x on bank holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provide reactive and planned maintenance for mechanical plant at the Energy Recovery facility.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and accurate CMMS records; update documentation for plant modifications.
- Support cross-functional team members and assist other SUEZ sites as needed.
- Participate in a 24-hour callout rota.
- Attend training and cover for colleagues when required with appropriate overtime compensation.
Requirements
- Completion of a relevant engineering apprenticeship.
- Qualified to City and Guilds level or NVQ level 3.
- A minimum of 4 years of maintenance engineering experience in a process, steam-raising, or heavy engineering environment.
- A suitable health and safety qualification (e.g., IOSH).
- Experience working in a regulated business environment.
- Experience working under a permit to work system.
- Welding and burning experience.
- Regulatory monitoring requirements training (MCERTS).
- A basic appreciation of electrical systems.
- Experience in using computer maintenance management systems (CMMS).
