You will ensure SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties regarding the health, safety and welfare of its employees, and perform any other duties reasonably requested within the scope of the role. You will assist site supervisors with day‑to‑day management of the team on site, ensuring daily production targets are achieved and production time maximised at the facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintain shift logs and provide daily feedback on performance to teams.
- Carry out toolbox talks for safe systems and safety alerts.
- Assist supervisors with weekly audits, action plans and oversee corrective actions.
- Assist supervisors with employee inductions, briefings and training.
- Assist supervisors with the day‑to‑day performance management of employees.
- Carry out waste acceptance checks on incoming material and carry out rejections as required in line with the customer’s contract.
- Ensure the segregation of all recyclable materials is maximised at the facility.
- Control housekeeping activities and ensure all are carried out safely, conforming to the safe systems of work and company policies.
- Promote an operating process that keeps focus on health and safety.
- Ensure all work equipment within the area is used and maintained in a safe manner, reporting all defects and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
- Carry out 5's audits and SIM observations to promote and maintain the safety & lean culture on site.

Qualifications
- A flexible approach to work, as you may be expected to provide cover and work overtime, as required.
- You must either already hold or be expected to achieve the IOSH Managing Safely Qualification.
- You must hold mobile plant licences and be computer literate.
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for Monday–Tuesday is £13.05, and £19.57 per hour on Saturday and Sunday. Working 36.75 hours per week. Potential to earn a monthly recycling bonus of up to £480.00. You will be expected to work bank holidays, where you will receive double pay and a day in lieu for each bank holiday worked.
