Location: Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre – EfW
Responsibilities- Monitor, control, and optimise EfW plant operations to maximise availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot issues, adjust processes, keep accurate logs, and carry out sampling.
- Operate waste cranes and support safe, environmentally compliant site activities.
- Deputise for the Shift Manager when required, gaining leadership and decision‑making experience.
- Actively contribute to a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering, qualified at HNC level or equivalent.
- Experience in an EfW plant or a similar process environment (e.g. biomass, power generation, energy or wastewater).
- Willingness to complete or work towards certifications such as BOAS, NEBOSH General Certificate, and training in root cause analysis and accident investigation.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work (SSOW); exposure to boilers, incinerators or HV switchgear desirable.
- Proactive, team‑focused mindset and commitment to sustainability and safe working.
