About the Role:

  • Role starts on 7th September 2026.
  • Travel expected; nights away from home (up to 3 months) around the South region. Company car or car allowance provided; fuel and accommodation fully paid.
  • Can be based around Milton Keynes, with flexibility for other municipal contracts in the South.
  • 24‑month basis incorporating various work placements across listed areas.
  • Salary: £28,673 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Up to 3% Bonus + Benefits.
  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship now or in the future.

What Will I Be Doing?

  • Assist in planning and coordinating municipal waste collection, recycling, and disposal operations for efficiency and timely service.
  • Support monitoring and reporting on service performance, including data collection, analysis, and identifying improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to reports, presentations, and documentation related to waste management projects and activities.
  • Undertake site visits to other contracts for hands‑on experience and support operational staff as required.
  • Develop leadership and management skills by shadowing senior managers and participating in team meetings and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Management, Accounting, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Graduated within the past 5 years.
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); quick learner of new systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with willingness to develop data analysis and operational reporting skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; able to work independently and within a team.
  • Valid full UK driving licence.
