Salary: total package £52,635 (including 10% shift allowance)

Overview
SUEZ is looking for a skilled maintenance technician to join our material recycling facility where we sort and process recyclable materials, diverting waste from landfill and supporting the circular economy.
Responsibilities
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across all plant areas, ensuring installations and modifications meet the latest standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with colleagues across functions to identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive changes that lower maintenance costs and boost efficiency.
- Maintain fixed plant equipment, applying hands‑on knowledge of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.
- Promote best‑practice health & safety and contribute to a culture of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Use Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan, record, and optimise maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical, electrical or multi‑skilled maintenance roles, ideally from a relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Qualification to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Proven experience maintaining fixed and mobile plant in recycling, waste processing, manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
- Hands‑on knowledge of equipment such as conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulics; experience with lean techniques desirable.
- Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely and ability to use CMMS (both highly desirable – training available).
