SUEZ are hiring a Maintenance Technician to support the safe, reliable, and sustainable operation of our Energy Recovery Centre. This role focuses on control and instrumentation maintenance, making it a great opportunity for people with an engineering apprenticeship who want to build a meaningful career in sustainability, low carbon energy, and essential infrastructure.

Salary: £48,466 - £52,681

Benefits: £3000 call out allowance, up to 10% annual bonus, 5% employer pension, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Location: Severnside Energy Recovery Centre Avonmouth

Hours: Monday – Friday 7.45am – 15.45pm

What will I be doing? You’ll deliver both reactive and planned maintenance, working with advanced systems that help transform waste into energy. As part of a collaborative, multi-skilled team, you’ll also share your expertise across disciplines and help keep the site running efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering reactive and planned maintenance on control and instrumentation systems
  • Providing on-site expertise on specialist equipment, including CEMs and DCS
  • Carrying out PLC and instrumentation fault-finding and troubleshooting
  • Supporting colleagues across functions when required
  • Contributing to safe systems of work and continuous improvement on site

What are the requirements?

  • A completed engineering apprenticeship, with City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3
  • DCS training (typically provided by the OEM of on-site equipment)
  • Experience with PLC systems and instrumentation troubleshooting
  • City & Guilds 2377 PAT testing certification
  • A suitable health and safety qualification (for example, IOSH)
