We are currently recruiting for a workshop supervisor within our Luton workshop. You will be responsible for looking after our team of HGV Technicians, as well as working on our fleet of HGV vehicles. We're looking for an established supervisor or an experienced technician who has the aptitude and desire to take on a new challenge.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all relevant information and paperwork is accurate and compliant.
- Issue jobs to technicians throughout the shift.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all technicians.
- Ensure that all team members complete jobs in a timely manner in line with company procedures.
- Report any problems to the management team as soon as possible.
- Ensure that all completed jobs are accurate within agreed times and cost-effective.
- Ensure all workshop personnel wear the correct PPE for jobs, conduct safety-in-mind conversations and report near-miss incidents.
- Carry out QC work as required.
- Collaborate with the parts department to obtain the right parts at the right price and time, including sundries and consumables.
- Conduct weekly supervisor checks.
Qualifications
- Team leader or supervisor experience is essential.
- A flexible, forward-thinking approach is required.
- Willingness to undertake any qualifications to succeed in the role.
- Experience as an HGV technician.
- Good knowledge of DVSA standards.
- Computer literacy.
- Offer subject to completion of a Basic DBS check (to be arranged by the employer).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: £49,308.77
- Working 45 hours per week.
- Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00 am – 15:30 pm.
- Company van provided (may be used for personal use, subject to tax).
