The predicted salary is between 30000 - 35000 £ per year.

We are looking for a Graduate Optimisation Engineer who is interested in applying their education to help fix real world problems. The role involves taking the real-world characteristics of water networks and configuring a digital equivalent in order to optimise performance. You will also be playing a part in making the world a cleaner and better place. You will need to understand and apply the engineering design process and use clear and strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

What will I be doing?
- Support the design, implementation, integration and support of the Smart Solutions technologies.
- Responsibilities during the different stages of the project includes support to:
- Collection of data from clients and analysing the data to reach evidenced conclusions
- Design meetings, incl. Operations Review Workshop and data gathering
- Assist in concept design as required
- Hydraulic model skeletonization, calibration and quality assurance
- Design Report assistance, mainly in producing supporting material and data collation
- Configuration of system databases, mainly pump curves, tank dimensions and demand curves, but may include additional tasks set by the project manager on an as required basis
- Assist with Solution testing and documentation
- Assist during software installation and commissioning
What are the requirements?
- BEng (Hons), preferably Mechanical or Civil - min grade 2:2
- Solid experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, familiarity with VBA useful
- Understanding of engineering processes and experience producing technical solutions
- Optimisation/software programming experience desirable but not essential
- Some SQL database experience preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with hydraulic modelling tools (EPANET or similar), desirable but not essential
- Ability to produce thorough evidence based documentation to support decisions
