Overview
We are SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, with 7,000 staff across 300 sites and a fleet of over 1,500 vehicles. Our Luton workshop is looking for a seasoned Vehicle Technician to maintain and service a diverse fleet of heavy goods and articulated vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults.
- Prepare and carry out MOT.
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
Qualifications
- NVQ level in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance or equivalent skills gained through experience.
- Proven experience and knowledge of repairing and maintaining vehicles.
- DBS check completed before start date.
- HGV licence class 1 or 2 an advantage but not necessary; opportunities for licence provision are available.
- Inspection training/IRTEC accreditation an advantage; can be provided.
- Hydraulics and pneumatics an advantage; training can be provided if required.
- Ability to inspect vehicles to DVSA standards and above.
Salary & Working Conditions
- Salary £48,000 (negotiable depending on experience).
- Monday to Friday, AM shift.
- 45 hours per week.
- Overtime available at x1.5 & x2, plus a day in lieu for Bank Holidays.
- Full PPE provided.
- 4 weeks holiday (rising each year you are with us) plus 8 bank holidays.
