Overview: Sue Ryder is one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold supports more than 2.7 million hours of medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support each year in hospices, homes and the community. As a member of the retail team, you will help inspire communities by reducing, reusing and recycling, and drive income to fund our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use retail experience to drive business, push sales and achieve targets.
- Lead a large volunteer team and deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
- Work with the local community to generate donated stock and support sales.
- Recruit, train and retain volunteers, providing leadership and guidance.
- Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and health and safety.
- Manage stock processes to keep the shop well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
- Act as a brand ambassador, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
- Operate the Epos system for effective sales and stock management.
Minimum Essential Criteria:
- Customer service experience.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Cash handling and till work.
- Basic IT skills (email, instant messaging, video call).
- Organisational skills.
- Experience working alone.
