About Us: Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough. We support people 18 and over who are living with life‑limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease. The expert team on our inpatient unit combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with emotional, practical and spiritual support. Our wellbeing and community support team are here to listen too. Our Hospice at Home service is available seven days a week and provides care to patients with a life limiting illness who wish to be cared for at home at the end of their life.

About the role: This role requires you to assist our clinical teams and senior management to develop data capture and reporting mechanisms; you’ll also assist with ensuring the collection and analysis of data for the different business units within the Hospice. This is also a great opportunity to help improve our processes to ensure that we drive accurate clinical systems information and demonstrate the positive impact on the services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of clinical systems to collate and analyse information for local and nationwide bodies.
  • Maintain high quality data, produce and interpret timely and accurate statistical information to inform strategy and operational requirements.

About you: The ideal candidate will have a strong teamwork ethic and sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to manage priorities and support a number of short, medium & long term projects.

  • Strong general administration and organisational skills
  • Experience delivering system and procedural training to small groups
  • Ability to understand reporting requirements, organise the collation, production of the reports
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Familiarity with clinical related systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the clinical system ‘SystmOne’.
  • Previous experience of the use of Information systems with a healthcare provider and/or a NHS environment
  • Ability to reliably commute to Peterborough (once per week)
  • Educated to GCSE standard (Maths & English) NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
