About the Role
Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is looking for an experienced and motivated Housekeeping Supervisor to join our friendly and dedicated team. As Housekeeping Supervisor you will help create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors and colleagues, ensuring the hospice maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort and dignity. This role includes weekend working on a rota basis (alternate weekends).
- Ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained to local and national standards and oversee the efficient organisation of laundry services where applicable.
- Supervise and support housekeeping staff to deliver a high‑quality service.
- Order supplies and check deliveries for accuracy and quality.
- Assist in the management of clinical and non‑clinical waste.
- Identify and report any faults, damage or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure processes comply with relevant standards and procedures.
- Ensure patient preferences are respected and reflected in the delivery of housekeeping services.
- Support a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the service.
About You
You will be organised, dependable and able to lead by example, understanding the important contribution that housekeeping services make to the experience of patients and families receiving hospice care.
- Minimum Essential Criteria
- Experience of working in a housekeeping, domestic or cleaning environment.
- Experience of supervising, supporting or coordinating the work of others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic IT skills, including the ability to complete records and access information electronically.
- Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working within a healthcare, hospice, care home or similar environment.
- Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety requirements.
- Experience of stock control and ordering supplies.
