We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team.

  • Assess service user needs and develop an appropriate person‑centred treatment programme to meet individual needs.
  • Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy.
  • Apply specialised knowledge and research to initiate innovative clinical projects that counter occupational risk factors and maintain function and quality of life.

You are a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist committed to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care within a palliative setting. You have a strong foundation in occupational therapy assessments and interventions, use sound clinical reasoning to support individuals in maintaining independence and engaging in meaningful activities, and are confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You manage your own workload, prioritise effectively, and respond to complex and sensitive situations with professionalism.

You communicate clearly and empathetically, building positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues. You assess and manage risk, demonstrate a good understanding of relevant legislation and professional standards, and are organised, adaptable and supportive of others’ development, offering guidance to junior staff, students and assistants.

Minimum Essential Criteria

  • HCPC registration and experience in functional assessments.
  • Ability to recommend and implement environmental or task‑based adaptations.
  • Skilled in inclusive communication and patient education.
  • Commitment to promoting independence and reducing barriers.

Desirable Criteria

  • Desirable experience of working in a relevant setting, which can include practice placements.
  • Awareness of national Palliative Care frameworks.
  • Experience in clinical audits and/or service development projects.
  • Experience in a community Therapy team.
