It's an exciting time to join Sue Ryder and to hit the ground running ideally you will be a part qualified or a highly experienced competent accountant with advanced excel skills.
About the role:
- Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts for retail, including preparation of accruals, prepayments, stock and deferred income journals.
- Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure that all income and costs are captured and reported accurately, in line with the reporting timetable; to provide variance analysis for actuals versus budget/forecast and prior year.
- Provide financial, performance and variance analysis for all areas pertaining to the management accounts for inclusion in the monthly Finance Report.
- Support designated areas in developing financial and operational data input into the strategic planning process.
- Participate in the forecasting and budgetary process in terms of collecting, recording and processing relevant data to support the Finance Business Partners, as well as importing the final budgets into the accounting systems.
- Liaise with Budget holders monthly to improve the financial understanding of the budget holders and with external auditors, compiling year end schedules for the annual audit, as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to organise short-term activities and plan tasks ahead
- Ability to organise, rearrange and critically appraise data and processes
- Ability to advise non-specialist colleagues and non-financial managers on complex technical financial matters
- Excellent IT skills; advanced user of Excel
- Part-Qualified (studying towards qualification) or qualified by experience
- Able to present complex data in a clear & easy to understand format
- Available for hybrid working, 2 days in Colchester minimum
