Shop Supervisor
10 Station Road, Chingford, E4 7BE
22.5 hours per week over 3 days, including weekends on rota
£12.79 per hour plus reward and benefit scheme
About the Role
As a Shop Supervisor in the Sue Ryder store, you will utilize your retail experience and commercial awareness to drive sales, manage a volunteer team, and support the broader mission of providing care and support to those in need.
Responsibilities
- Drive business, push sales, and achieve targets using retail skills.
- Lead a team to deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
- Collaborate with the local community to generate donated stock to support sales.
- Recruit, train, and retain a volunteer team, acting as a mentor and leader.
- Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and health and safety.
- Manage effective stock processes to ensure the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
- Operate the Epos system efficiently.
Minimum Essential Criteria
- Customer Service Experience
- Previous supervisory Experience
- Cash Handling/Till work
- Basic IT skills (email, instant messaging, video calls)
- Organisational Skills
- Lone working experience
Desirable Criteria
- High street retail, leisure, or hospitality background
- KPI and target experience
- Charity retail experience
- Health & Safety knowledge
- Team Player attitude
- Keyholder / opening and closing responsibilities
- Merchandising and stock rotation skills
