Based in Fakenham, driving around Norfolk/Suffolk. Zero Hours contract will include weekends. £12.57 per hour + rewards & benefits – as of 1st April 2026 the rate of pay will be increasing to at least £12.71 per hour.

We have a much-loved presence on high streets across the country – with a range of innovative shops, including boutiques, vintage and retro shops, and large format stores. As a member of the retail team you’ll be helping us inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. You will also be contributing to drive up the income that generates the vital funds necessary to keep our care and support services running.

We understand our people are our most important asset and work hard to make sure you feel valued and included as part of a team. In retail most work every weekend; our managers mainly work only 1 in 2. We don’t expect our teams to work past 5:15 in most of our shops. The earliest we start is 8:45 am. We have every Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day off.

Situated on the edge of a bustling historic market town, our Sue Ryder Fakenham superstore offers a fantastic range of electrical, furniture, white and homeware goods. Working in partnership with a well-known furniture retailer and local firm Aldiss, we offer a wide range of pre-loved goods to furnish every room of the house, spanning everything from large furniture items and soft furnishings to pictures and small electricals – not to mention little knick-knacks to make a house a home. We also stock new goods with an extensive range from furniture to small gifts.

About you: Do you have experience of driving a commercial vehicle with a full UK driving licence? Do you work well in a fast-paced environment? Would you like a chance to use your experience for an important cause? If so, come and join the team and contribute to the work we do across Sue Ryder!

To join us, you’ll need: You’ll need to have experience of multi-site collections and deliveries and be used to driving a medium to large-size commercial vehicle and have the ability to manage priorities and deadlines. With these talents, you'll deliver retail excellence to grow income and make a difference to Sue Ryder Healthcare and the people we support. As one of our van drivers you will play a vital role in helping our shops raise income.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the collection and delivery of stock within agreed timescales across sales territories and regional boundaries.
  • To maintain security of stock during transportation and ensure careful handling of stock to minimise losses.
  • Ensure completion and compliance for all admin processes, reports and paperwork relating to Health and Safety, vehicle checks, fuel purchases, data protection and Gift Aid.
  • Ensure your vehicle is legally compliant and clean at all times and all servicing, repairs and MOT are carried out as and when required.
  • Use email, Google Maps to plan effective routes and work schedules.
