Sue Ross Recruitment are seeking a Telephone Collections Agent to join our client’s dynamic and ever expanding debt recovery business in Sheffield. You will be responsible for contacting individuals and businesses by phone to recover overdue debts. This involves making outbound and receiving inbound calls, discussing payment solutions, and handling potentially sensitive conversations professionally. Agents record accurate notes, follow compliance procedures, and work towards performance targets. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with IT systems are essential. The goal is to help customers resolve their debts while supporting the company’s collection objectives.

The Role:

  • Making and receiving calls to and from individuals and businesses to arrange repayment of overdue debts.
  • Managing sensitive conversations with empathy, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Recording detailed and accurate notes of interactions and payment agreements.
  • Entering customer payment details securely and accurately.
  • Working towards individual and team targets in a friendly, open-plan contact centre.
  • Following established procedures and compliance guidelines related to debt recovery.

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
