Sue Ross Legal are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected specialist Clinical Negligence law firm, to recruit a Clinical Negligence Law Costs Solicitor/Negotiator on a permanent, full-time or part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and expanding practice renowned for its expertise in Clinical Negligence claims. The successful candidate will become an integral part of a skilled and supportive team, providing specialist costs advice and working closely with fee-earners and the accounts department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and drafting of Bills of Costs for Clinical Negligence matters.
  • Preparation of detailed Replies to Points of Dispute.
  • Negotiating settlements of costs with opposing parties.
  • Costs budgeting, including preparation and updating of budgets.
  • Issuing and managing costs proceedings.
  • Carrying out advocacy where required (preferred but not essential).
  • Providing advice and support to fee-earners on all costs-related matters.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Solid experience in Clinical Negligence costs work, including negotiations and Points of Dispute.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in costs budgeting and assessment procedures.
  • Confidence in liaising with solicitors, counsel, and clients.
  • Experience using case management systems and digital billing tools.
  • A team-oriented approach with enthusiasm to develop and contribute to the wider success of the firm.
