Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for a Multi-Track Personal Injury Fee Earner.
Our client is a top 100 UK law firm with a renowned reputation. Due to a period of continued growth, the firm is actively seeking dedicated and ambitious lawyers (whether qualified solicitors or unqualified fee earners) to handle a varied caseload of high-value serious and catastrophic injury cases from start to finish, predominantly litigated RTA based.
Depending on experience, you will oversee cases valued between GBP 25,000 and GBP 1,000,000+.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent client care to clients who have suffered traumatic and life-changing events.
- Conduct regular technical and case reviews, providing feedback and mentoring as required.
- Maintain regular communication and meetings with clients.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams of experts, including medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.
- Analyze evidence and research legal issues related to liability, causation, and quantum.
- Draft documents such as statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.
- Secure early interim payments and facilitate appropriate rehabilitation.
- Optimize client settlements.
- Work with a task-based case management system to ensure regular contact, exceptional customer service, and manage expectations.
- Raise awareness of the department and develop your professional profile.
- Support your Team Leader in supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members, ensuring KPIs are followed, performance issues are managed, and development plans are in place.
- Perform effectively in a target-driven environment.
- Undertake any other relevant tasks as assigned by the business.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx with at least 4 years post-qualification experience or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to handle and recover appropriate rates.
- Proven experience in handling serious injury claims, with strong technical skills and practical knowledge of court procedures.
- Commitment to delivering excellent client care, with strong communication, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
- Ability to achieve objectives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of work and client care.
- Proficient with case management systems, Excel, and Word, with good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Resilient — capable of handling changing circumstances and challenging situations while achieving objectives.
Your KPIs and objectives will be discussed and agreed upon in one-to-one meetings with your line manager, who will review your performance and support your development.
