Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a market-leading engineering company in the recruitment of a Purchasing Lead. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the supply chain plan, demand planning, vendor management and inventory strategies.
- Vendor Management
- Maintain and cultivate positive vendor relationships undertaking on and off site visits
- Develop supply chain initiatives and strategic planning
- Issue supply forecasts, measure KPI’s and additional performance metrics to support service feedback
- Negotiate prices and terms of supply with vendors
- Oversee the purchasing MRP process
- Ensure process compliance and seek improvements by maintaining departmental KPI’s
- Raising of purchase orders to stock and adhoc purchases
- Liaise with finance to achieve purchase order matching
- Maintain data integrity in ERP system
- Maintain inventory levels, review stock strategies and improvements to maintain service levels and reduce dead stocks
- Identify supply constraints, solutions and contingencies to reduce stock outs
- Undertake bi-annual stock takes in conjunction with the warehouse lead
- Support and maintain the company PI targets
- Lead and develop the team to ensure best practice and KPI are met
- Perform annual reviews to support employee development
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience of managing and developing procurement strategies
- Experience of purchasing and managing from vendors worldwide
- Leadership experience
- Team player with a passion for success and ability to see tasks through to completion
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Competent on Microsoft Office and knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
