Sue Ross Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a highly respected, award-winning Sheffield law firm to recruit an experienced Assistant Conveyancer for its specialist Residential Conveyancing team. The Role
This is a technical conveyancing position, supporting senior fee-earners on complex residential property matters that sit outside routine sale and purchase work. The role would suit an Assistant Conveyancer already operating in a technical capacity or someone with previous experience of more complex property transactions. You will act as a key support to senior colleagues, playing an integral role in progressing technically challenging files while maintaining the high standards the firm is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting senior conveyancers with complex residential conveyancing transactions
- Working on matters including freehold reversions, transfers of equity, lease extensions, variations of lease, title variations and complex title structures
- Reviewing contract packs, title documentation and supporting papers
- Undertaking detailed title investigations and identifying defects, restrictions, covenants and boundary issues
- Raising and responding to technical enquiries relating to title, lease provisions, rights and restrictions
- Reviewing lease documentation and assisting with landlord and tenant considerations
- Drafting and preparing technical legal documents, including transfers, deeds of variation, licences and supplemental documents
- Reviewing search results and highlighting legal or practical property issues
- Liaising with buyers’ and sellers’ solicitors, estate agents, lenders, IFAs, landlords and managing agents
- Supporting matters involving multi-title and multi-party transactions
- Assisting with lender requirements and ensuring compliance with Land Registry and lender panel conditions
- Preparing files for exchange and completion on complex matters
- Maintaining accurate file notes and correspondence on the case management system
- Escalating complex legal or title issues where appropriate
- Providing wider technical support to the residential conveyancing team
About You
- Previous experience as an Assistant Conveyancer, Conveyancing Executive or similar role
- Exposure to technical residential conveyancing work is essential
- Strong understanding of title issues, leases and complex property structures
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with multiple third parties
- A proactive team player with a client-focused mindset
