Sue Ross Legal are working on behalf of our client, a small family law focused firm. We’re looking for a motivated, commercially minded Family Solicitor (1–2 years PQE) to join their growing and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of their own caseload, strengthen their technical expertise, and play a key role in delivering exceptional client service. You’ll handle a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, working with clients navigating complex and often sensitive issues. With the right balance of autonomy, supervision and professional development, this role offers genuine scope to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload including divorce and financial remedy, TOLATA, private children matters, separation and cohabitation disputes.
- Conduct client meetings, identify needs, explain legal options and develop strategic case plans.
- Progress files efficiently from instruction through to conclusion.
- Draft, review and prepare a range of legal documents.
- Maintain excellent standards of client care and communication.
- Ensure accurate time recording and timely billing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity and quality of service.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1–2 years PQE in family law.
- Experience managing or assisting with a family law caseload.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commercially aware with an understanding of billing expectations.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
