Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside their client who are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. This is a full time role, 37 hours per week and is fully office-based with an element of flexibility with the daily hours. The successful candidate will pass an enhanced DBS check.

Daily duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Preparing timely and accurate financial information to support monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines
  • Monitoring and supervising reconciliation of key control accounts
  • Processing journal adjustments, including accruals, prepayments amongst other things
  • Assisting budget holders with ad hoc financial data requests and support monitoring of both revenue and capital budgets
  • Supporting Senior Financial Accountant with VAT return coding queries
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Monitoring and controlling cash flow in line with the Treasury Management Policy
  • Contributing to monthly financial management reviews across the Trust
  • Preparing financial reports and submitting ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency) returns
  • Preparing of the Trust’s annual financial statements, Value for Money (VFM) statement, and annual return
