The Opportunity
As Health & Safety Manager, you'll act as Sudlows' lead competent person for Health, Safety and Environmental Management, ensuring our systems, culture and practices continue to set industry standards. Reporting into senior leadership, you'll lead the company's HSE strategy while supporting project teams, managers and directors to continually improve performance across multiple sites. This role combines strategic leadership with practical operational support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys influencing people as much as improving systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and continually improve the company's Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems
- Champion a proactive safety culture throughout the business
- Lead, coach and develop two Health & Safety Advisors
- Advise Directors and senior leaders on legislation, compliance and best practice
- Maintain ISO management systems and ensure company-wide compliance
- Support operational teams with practical HSE guidance
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections and performance reviews
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Deliver engaging training and coaching across the business
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and all relevant legislation
- Help reduce environmental impact through sustainable working practices

Essential Experience
- Significant Health & Safety leadership experience within construction
- Proven experience implementing and improving HSE management systems
- Experience advising Directors and senior stakeholders
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Strong investigation, auditing and reporting experience
Qualifications
Essential
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
Desirable
- CMIOSH (Chartered Member of IOSH) or working towards
- IEMA qualification or similar Environmental qualification
- Continued professional development
