Manchester based manufacturer is looking for a new Head of Finance to work with the Management team and support this business as it grows. This role would be suitable for a qualified accountant CIMA/the ACCA/ACA looking for a new challenge in their career, who can lead and add value to an established team. The role demands an experienced Head of Finance who can bring energy and direction to a business with exciting plans!

Job Role

  • Financial accounting and reporting are core to this role as well as financial analysis, budgeting, robust cash flow forecasting and providing financial recommendations to Management.
  • As a team leader, the successful candidate will provide strong support and development to the members of their team, planning and organising workloads appropriate to the strengths of the individuals and the demands on the team.
  • The successful candidate will be based in the Manchester office and report directly to the Managing Director.

Main tasks / responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting – overall responsibility to produce and review accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Financial Processes and controls – take a hands on approach to maintain appropriate financial systems, internal controls, and processes.
  • Leadership – leadership is crucial part of the role, responsible for the management, performance and continued development of the head office team and culture.
  • Cash flow - detailed focus on cash flow forecasting.
  • Fulfilling the role of Company Secretary.
  • Internal collaboration – support the Management team to ensure the appropriate level of performance review and financial knowledge is delivered across the business.
  • Delivering payroll, expenses, HMRC requirements.

Preferred Profile and Experience

  • Manufacturing sector experience is essential. Past experience with ERP systems and excellent Excel skills are vital.
  • A hands on approach in the finance team to meet the working demands of a SME business.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise workload efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential to liaise between the various sites within this growing organisation.
