With strong recurring revenues, a loyal customer base and a highly capable technical team, the business is embarking on a buy-and-build strategy. They are now seeking a readily available Finance Director / CFO to partner with the founders and investors to professionalise the finance function, drive value creation and support an active acquisition programme.
The company requires a commercially minded Finance Director / CFO who can:
- Build robust financial infrastructure.
- Provide strategic insight to the Board.
- Lead M&A execution and integration.
- Support investor reporting and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Board Leadership
- Act as a trusted partner to the founders and investors.
- Provide high-quality MI, forecasting and financial insight to support strategic decisions.
- Support long-term planning, valuation and exit readiness.
- Financial Control & Infrastructure
- Design and implement scalable financial systems, controls and processes.
- Build a best-in-class finance function suitable for a growing group.
- Oversee budgeting, cashflow, working capital and performance reporting.
- M&A
- Lead financial due diligence on acquisitions.
- Build acquisition models and investment cases.
- Manage funding structures, completion accounts and post-deal integration.
- Create consistent reporting and performance management across acquired businesses.
- Investor & Stakeholder Management
- Own the relationship with investors on all financial matters.
- Deliver clear, credible reporting and covenant compliance.
- Support future fundraises or refinancing as required.
Successful candidate
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experienced in a Finance Director or senior finance role within a growing SME or PE-backed business.
- Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment.
- Experienced in M&A, integrations or transaction support.
- Highly analytical but also pragmatic and commercially focused.
- Experience in IT services, SaaS, MSPs or other recurring-revenue technology businesses would be highly advantageous, but not essential.
