North West England | Private Equity Environment | Multi-Site | Regulated Services

Hybrid working

Our client is a fast-scaling, multi-site regulated business entering an exciting new phase of growth under incoming private equity ownership. We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the next stage of the journey.

The successful candidate will be a commercially astute and operationally hands-on CFO with a proven track record in PE-backed or leveraged environments. Experience within regulated, multi-site sectors such as healthcare, nursing care, children's services, special education or children's nurseries is highly desirable. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the diverse funding models within these sectors, including government and local authority income streams, together with the operational and financial KPIs that drive performance across multiple locations. Experience of growth through M&A and buy-and-build strategies would be highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer will include:

  • Leading the finance function through a private equity transaction and subsequent growth phase
  • Supporting and executing an active M&A pipeline, including integration activity
  • Enhancing financial controls, reporting, forecasting and KPI visibility across the group
  • Developing meaningful site-level reporting and performance metrics to support operational decision-making across a diverse estate
  • Managing banking, covenant and investor relationships

Requirements:

  • Previous CFO experience within a PE-backed, leveraged or high-growth environment
  • Significant finance leadership experience within a regulated, multi-site business, ideally in healthcare, nursing, specialist education, children's services or nursery settings
  • A strong understanding of multiple funding streams, including local authority and government-funded income, together with the commercial and operational KPIs that underpin site performance
  • Exposure to buy-and-build and M&A integration activity
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
