Our client is known for their glamourous occasion wear. They are looking for a Garment Technologist to join their team in Manchester.
Your responsibilities include:
- Create detailed technical packs outlining fabric, trims, measurements, and construction details
- Partner with pattern makers to develop and adjust patterns while preparing workbooks.
- Oversee sample creation, review fit and construction, and recommend improvements.
- Participate in fit sessions to ensure garments meet high standards and maintain key measurements.
- Manage production processes to meet quality standards, deadlines, and cost requirements.
- Identify and resolve issues with garment construction, fabric, or machinery during production.
- Work with production managers and manufacturers to set and monitor production schedules for on‑time delivery.
- Track shipment timelines and maintain regular communication with suppliers to meet deadlines.
- Conduct quality inspections on samples and finished garments to ensure they align with standards and specifications.
- Approve size specifications for bulk production and provide clear feedback on fit to suppliers.
- Address high‑return styles, collaborate with the product team on solutions, and support resolution initiatives.
We are looking for someone with experience as a Garment Technologist, expertise in measuring, grading, and leading fit sessions, and proficiency in Excel, Illustrator, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, along with a proactive and team‑oriented approach, are required.
