Our client, a global leader in the design, development, and sourcing of consumer goods for the fashion and apparel industry, are looking for a Children’s Accessories Technologist to join their London-based team, working on kids’ accessories including bags, belts, soft accessories, cut & sew hats, and sunglasses.
The Role
As part of the technical team, you will ensure that every product in your category is safe, compliant, fit for purpose, and commercially viable. You’ll work closely with buying, design, merchandising, and global suppliers to deliver an on-trend, high-quality range that meets strict safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing product development, fittings, and approvals from concept to production.
- Conducting seasonal block reviews, updating specs, and analysing market trends.
- Ensuring timely and accurate tech packs and fit comments in line with critical path dates.
- Identifying risks and ensuring compliance with quality, legal, and ethical standards.
- Working with suppliers and QA teams (including overseas) on audits, testing, and corrective actions.
- Supporting range building and collaborating cross-functionally to drive innovation and value.
- Contributing to supplier relationships, factory audits, and process improvements.
About You
- Degree in Fashion Technology or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in a multi-product environment, ideally with a value retailer or supplier.
- Strong knowledge of accessories (kids preferred), fabrics, testing standards, and safety legislation.
- Proven experience with offshore suppliers and managing the critical path.
- Highly organised with excellent communication skills and commercial acumen.
