Were recruiting an experienced Import Merchandiser to join a well-established import-led business in Manchester. Youll take ownership of costings, factory negotiation, critical paths and product delivery, working directly with overseas suppliers from development and sampling through to final delivery. The Role As Import Merchandiser, you will: - Take customer and buying team briefs through development, sampling and bulk production. - Build, manage and maintain seasonal critical paths. - Negotiate factory costings to achieve commercial targets and protect margin. - Select appropriate factories based on capability, price, quality and capacity. - Raise and manage purchase orders and monitor production progress. - Identify and resolve quality, production and delivery issues. - Work closely with overseas factories and suppliers on a day-to-day basis. - Coordinate with freight forwarders through to final delivery. - Maintain accurate product, costing and production information. If youre someone who spots a potential delay before it becomes a problem, youll thrive in this role. About You To succeed as an Import Merchandiser, youll need: -Proven experience in import merchandising, production merchandising or a similar factory-facing role. - Hands-on experience with factory costings and price negotiation. - Strong critical path management, ideally across seasonal collections. - A solid understanding of the full product development-to-delivery process. - Direct experience working with overseas factories and suppliers. - Strong Excel skills. - Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving abilities. Experience within fashion, apparel, accessories, homeware or consumer goods would be advantageous, as would existing overseas factory relationships.
