Success Recruit are currently working with a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based on the outskirts of Chelmsford who are looking to recruit a confident and professional individual to take ownership of a varied and pivotal role covering company secretarial duties, administration, reception, and facilities management. The successful Company Secretary will be expected to: * Strong working knowledge of Companies House processes and office systems would be advantageous / previous experience within accountancy sector providing admin support advantageous * A friendly and professional approach with high attention to detail * Confidence in liaising with clients, directors, and external service providers The successful Company Secretary will be rewarded with: * A welcoming and professional team environment * Convenient local transport links * Opportunity to take ownership of a broad and valued position within the business * Career stability within a reputable and established accountancy practice Job Description: The successful Company Secretary will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the firm’s operations while acting as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and suppliers. This is a broad and hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Duties to include but not limited to: * Managing Companies House filings, statutory records, and company updates * Raising annual Tax Investigation invoices and coordinating distribution and payment tracking * Producing monthly bank audit reports * Maintaining and updating client factsheets, newsletter portals, and website content * Assisting with Letters of Engagement, final client packs, NAC & SMC fee notes, and dictation * Supporting email and paper filing, company event planning, and diary management * Welcoming visitors professionally and creating a warm, helpful front-of-house presence * Answering, screening, and directing phone calls * Managing post, deliveries, and reception materials * Ordering and maintaining stationery, supplies, and office equipment * Coordinating office repairs, improvements, and contractor visits * Maintaining an Equipment & Facilities Register and Assets Register * Ensuring compliance with inspections and servicing requirements * Overseeing cleaning, waste disposal, recycling, and general office upkeep This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their organisational skills, enjoys building relationships throughout the business and offering support for administration requirements within an accountancy / professional services environment. Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am – 5.30pm Salary: up to £35k – 4 & 5 days considered
