Our client, one of the UK’s newest independent businesses, is looking for a travel consultant to join their flagship high street travel store in Leicestershire. As a Travel Consultant, you’ll be the face of the store, providing expert advice, delivering outstanding service, and creating tailor‑made travel experiences. You’ll be working with a wide variety of suppliers, from mainstream tour operators to cruise lines and DMCs, as well as using dynamic packaging tools to offer flexible, personalised solutions.
This is a dynamic, customer‑focused sales role ideal for someone with experience in a retail travel agency and a passion for building lasting client relationships. Role of Retail Travel Consultant:
- Offer knowledgeable travel guidance while ensuring a seamless and memorable customer experience
- Convert holiday enquiries into bookings, meeting and exceeding personal sales targets
- Sell a broad range of travel products including package holidays, cruise, dynamic packages, city breaks, and tailor‑made itineraries
- Use travel industry booking systems and supplier platforms to prepare and confirm travel arrangements
- Build relationships with customers and follow up on enquiries to secure repeat business
- Stay up to date with travel trends, products and destinations
- Support the team with day‑to‑day store operations and maintain a welcoming environment
Skills required for the role:
- Proven experience in a retail travel agency role within the last 5 years - essential
- Strong sales skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Experience of booking holidays through travel suppliers, tour operators or dynamic packaging platforms
- Excellent destination knowledge and confidence in selling a wide range of holiday types
- Experience in selling cruise or tailor‑made holidays - beneficial
- Knowledge of DMCs, GDS or dynamic packaging tools - beneficial
- Experience with Top Dog Reservations Platform - beneficial
