Reporting to: Field Manager
Full time: Monday to Friday, 45 hours a week between 7am-7pm. Saturdays required on a rota pattern, paid as overtime.
Location: Bridgend, South Wales
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum (DOE)

Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Field Manager, the pre-pull engineer will be installing and servicing overhead and underground using Openreach PIA and Netomnia specific network. The pre-pull engineer has a key role in installing right first time whilst maintaining an outstanding customer service for our customers, updating relevant systems in a timely manner throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primarily work on customer installation pre-pulls, but occasionally assist FND with overhead and underground cabling and CBT installation.
- Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per our vehicle policy.
- Complete assigned activities on time and manage day-to-day jobs.
- Completing minor civil works required on customer boundary including blockage clearances.
- Install customer lead in from Netomnia built Network.
- Running cables from the Netomnia CBT (both overhead and underground) to the customer property to a high-quality standard whilst following H&S best practice.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Experience working in a similar role, working on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
- Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
- Demonstrable experience and a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Clear and concise communication abilities.
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
- Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, with your manager, and with other teams within the company, with an excellent customer service attitude.
- A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.
Requirements:
- Must hold a full UK driving Licence for minimum 12 months.
- SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent.
- IPAF 1b.
- Full NRSWA operator’s license (excluding Hot lay).
- SMART AWARDS preferable.
- Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
