Substance Global is looking for a Junior Creative Designer to join our Healthcare and Energy Studio. The work is structured, fast‑moving and production‑led, but the environment you’ll be doing it in is sociable, open and highly collaborative. Ideas are shared constantly, conversations are encouraged, and work moves quickly with plenty of support from the wider team.

You’ll be creating social‑first content across healthcare and energy clients, helping turn established ideas into clear, engaging visuals across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and other digital platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

  • The role is focused on production and execution, with support and guidance from senior designers and project managers.
  • Social content including quote cards, carousels and campaign visuals.
  • Adapting and resizing creative across multiple platforms.
  • Building simple motion‑led content by combining video, type and graphics.
  • Editing short‑form video for social channels.
  • Working within established client brand guidelines.
  • Supporting designers and project managers to deliver work on time and to spec.
  • Keeping an eye on social trends and applying them where relevant to briefs.

There is some scope to contribute ideas, but the focus of the role is turning concepts into well‑crafted, platform‑ready output.

Role Profile – Junior Creative Designer:

  • Design and create both static and motion social media posts for Pharma and Energy Sector clients (not entertainment clients).
  • Execute designs within brand guideline constraints, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Assist with brainstorming and contribute ideas.
  • Have a good understanding of design, motion, visual communication principles, and social media trends.
  • Good overall computer skills and ability to organise project files.
  • Ability to action feedback and take learnings from it, actively refining your work.
  • Work to deadlines.

Essential Skills required:

  • Some professional design experience (studio, freelance, internship or junior role) or lots of talent and a professional approach showcased in your portfolio.
  • Good grasp of the basics within Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and After Effects.
  • Awareness of social media formats, design and video file specifications, and social media content trends.
  • Understanding of design principles and a sense of style (we’ll look for this in your portfolio).
  • Ability to pick up tools such as Slack, Asana, Google Docs, and Box quickly.
  • A good grasp of typesetting and strong English ability.
  • A professional approach to work – visible across your time keeping, communication, presentation of work, and organisation of files.

Bonus points if you have any of these:

  • Interest in healthcare and/or energy sector.
  • Strong motion design experience or ability to learn.
  • Understanding of coding basic After Effects expressions.
  • 3D skills with Blender or within After Effects, or ability to learn.
  • Video and audio editing experience with Premiere Pro and Audition, or ability to learn.
  • AI image and video creation experience.
