Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Lead on the development and implementation of strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives and expand market presence within Asia.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong regional relationships with key stakeholders, including military officials, defence contractors, government agencies, and other potential partners.
- Regional Accountability: Accountability for regional business development reporting to senior management.
- Industry Engagement: Represent and advocate for the company at industry forums, contributing to thought leadership initiatives. Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network with key stakeholders in the maritime and defence sectors. International travel will be required.
- Coordinate Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product development, and finance, to align business development efforts with company goals. Ensure clear communication and coordination between regional teams to leverage resources and expertise.
- Management: Lead the Business Development team within Asia to achieve regional business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Business Development: Relevant experience of winning business with clients and partners within the defence sector, preferably within Asia.
- Leadership: Demonstratable experience of expanding and leading a successful team delivering the business development function.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication with the ability to present complex information to a range of audiences.
- Cultural Awareness: An understanding of regional business culture and etiquette is preferable.
- Reporting: Experience of engaging with senior personnel providing accurate reporting to support allocation of business resource.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, or a related discipline).
- Current NSV clearance or able to attain clearance.
Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.
