Seaway7 requires a new Project Operations Engineer to have overall responsibility for the transportation and marshalling of cables to be based in our Aberdeen office on a permanent staff basis. This role involves building a knowledge base of known Ports, Vessel Owners and Contractors specializing in the handling of cables. Subcontractors will then be managed and coordinated to ensure safe transportation and storage of cables from point of collection at manufacture, through transport and marshalling, to delivery at the quayside for collection by the installation vessel.

What will you be doing?

  • Define and oversee the strategy for subsea cable transportation and marshalling, ensuring equipment mobilisation, transpool procedures, certification, and safety assurance.
  • Determine transportation and marshalling requirements for each project, including equipment, yard parameters, budget, and resource needs.
  • Select 3rd party vessels/yards and related services, prepare SOWs, and review technical offers.
  • Review and manage procedures, documentation, and negotiations related to transpooling operations and load-ins/load-outs.
  • Assess suitability of transport vessels and marshalling yards/ports, manage equipment design and supply, produce cable stacking plans, and define yard layout requirements.
  • Oversee load-in/load-out activities, ensuring readiness and mobilisation of equipment and marshalling yards.
  • Liaise with the Seaway7 Vessel Delivery Manager for load-out operations and implement/report on Safety, Health, and Quality aspects at onshore work sites.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Preferred minimum of 5 years' experience working within the offshore sector or field/site based work from civils or other sectors.
  • Skilled in co-ordination of support Services, subcontractors etc.
  • Fluent in English.
