Job Description
We are looking for a Principal Analysis Engineer (Pipeline Installation) to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team at our Sutton, London office on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our Analysis Engineers are recognised for their expertise and those in the higher levels positions also for their management skills and can oversee specific critical subjects either on business improvement, or projects. You will either be a part of, or depending on experience be in charge, a team of installation analysis project engineers, dealing with rigid pipeline installation analysis in project, FEED or tender.
What will you be doing?
- Perform in autonomy installation analysis of rigid pipeline in S-lay, J-lay and/or Reel-lay and be accountable for you, and in some cases a teams, scope of work.
- Mentor and support junior engineers on their scopes of work
- Responsible for ensuring that standard of engineering services provided complies with relevant company engineering standards with a clear focus on commerciality of engineering solutions.
- Ensure installation analysis solution is fit for purpose while meeting client specifications.
- Provide engineering support during operations with occasional periods offshore or on yard.
- Promote safety culture and initiatives to the installation engineering team throughout the onshore and offshore delivery phases.
- Participate actively to the Pipeline Group department know-how consolidation
- Propose innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction.
What experience would we like you to have?

- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or similar subject
- Demonstrable relevant experience (preferably in the Oil & Gas market but other relevant experience will be considered).
- Proficient with Orcaflex and familiarity with systems such as Python, VBA and Abaqus
- Good communication skills with ability to speak with all levels within the business. Comfortable working individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability prioritise and organise work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management.
- This role may involve short spells of overseas travel so candidates may need to show a willingness and flexibility to meet these requirements.
