Job Description
Are you ready to take on a dynamic and multifaceted role at the forefront of offshore diving operations? As Dive Technical Superintendent, you'll play a key role in ensuring the continuous improvement and operational excellence of Diving Systems and Equipment within our Offshore Delivery (OD) Fleet & Equipment (F&E) Group.
This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the technical heart of saturation diving-where no two days are the same, and your skills will be crucial in maintaining operations. This is a full time, staff role based in our Westhill, Aberdeenshire office.
Some of the main responsibilities include:
- Ensure that appropriate maintenance systems and tools are upheld in accordance with Subsea7 technical management instructions and applicable international standards
- Participate in routine reviews of Maintenance & Repair Budgets with F&E personnel
- Ensure that budgeted Capital Expenditure applications are submitted in a timely manner with proper business justification and that these projects when approved are delivered on time and on budget
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of Diving Equipment documentation within the BMS including technical instructions and other departmental instructions to enhance effectiveness
- Liaise with the F&E Technical Support functions and OD SCM in setting clear and consolidated strategies / approaches for the maintenance of key equipment. In addition, Liaise with the Diving Operations Authority (DOA) for operational impact and compliance
- Fully utilises and improves the F&E maintenance software ensuring the software meets ongoing requirements of the F&E Fleet organisation, as well as requirements for smooth interfaces with SAP
- Liaise with Vessel and Equipment Superintendents in establishing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for vessel & equipment downtime and maintenance activities
- Assisting with the technical aspects of Dive Systems and equipment tendering processes
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with the Equipment Group (EG) Dive Equipment Maintenance workshop personnel
- Chair regular meetings with the DSV fleet Diving Technical Supervisors, maintaining a functional and effective action tracker
- Oversee, monitor and measure the delivery of maintenance across F&E acting as the center of maintenance knowledge for all Dive Systems and Equipment across OD functions
- As required, visit and organise visits to worksites to assess and report on maintenance practices to confirm compliance and facilitate improvements to working practices with particular emphasis on long term asset performance
- Liaise with OD New Build and Project Directors in ensuring Maintenance standards are considered at design stage and in organising their implementations for newly delivered Dive Vessels & Equipment
- Produce analysis reports and provide feedback on all aspects of Dive System Maintenance Systems to Management as and when required
- Incorporate the F&E strategies and annual plan into key realistic objectives and deliverables for department personnel. Provide adequate support, training and guidance towards team members in order to enable them to carry out their role to the fullest
- Change Manager for all Diving Equipment Management of Technical Changes, reviewing all proposed changes to diving equipment and updating technical drawings, documentation, procedures and FMECAs as required, as well as liaising with the relevant classification society
What experience would we like you to have?
- Demonstrable working and operational knowledge on all Diving industry recognised equipment & systems
- In depth working knowledge of local and global legislation, Class society & certification related to specific role related equipment, including IMCA Diving documents
- Good co-ordination, organisation and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues
- The ability to understand interface relationship between Diving and Project personnel
- Capable of guiding technical decisions relative to the Dive equipment owned and managed by Subsea7
