Overview

In this onshore role, you provide critical support to the Vessel Superintendent to keep assets safe, compliant, and available for projects. You partner with master, chief engineer, and onshore teams to sustain vessel performance and cost efficiency within budget. You drive safety culture, regulatory compliance, and maintenance strategies across regions, focusing on reliability and efficiency. This is an opportunity to influence asset lifecycle—from routine maintenance to dry docking—within a global offshore delivery context.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety culture onboard and support HSEQ activities across regions
  • Ensure IMO, Class, Flag and ISM responsibilities are met and vessels remain compliant
  • Schedule and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance with minimum project disruption
  • Prepare and manage OPEX budget for Crew, M&R, consumables, logistics, and onshore support
  • Supervise planning and execution of major works, including dry docking and CAPEX
  • Organize engineering support for capacity growth CAPEX and related costing
  • Contribute to maintenance procedures, standards, and policies improvements
  • Present technical, financial and safety reviews for OPEX and major projects
  • Manage vessel spares and consumables inventory within budget
  • Maintain an adequate marine crew and technicians with Offshore Crewing support
  • Collaborate with Fleet, Project management, DPA/CSO, and operations teams on vessel requirements
  • Liaise with Class, Flag authorities, equipment providers, manufacturers and auditors

Key requirements

  • Naval Architect or Marine Engineer background, or Engineering Degree with relevant CoC/experience
  • Relevant engineering or operations experience
  • Understanding of vessel capability and operating limits
  • Knowledge of IMO, Class, Flag and ISM requirements
  • Strong leadership, managerial and organizational skills
  • Stakeholder management and relationship-building across levels
  • Commercial awareness and experience informing operational decisions and asset performance
  • Clear, professional communication with senior managers, clients, crews, and offshore personnel
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written, with quality technical reporting
