QWM Group is in an exciting period of growth and we’re now looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to help drive the success of our Rail Division. We specialise in Drainage, Industrial Services, Tankering, and Utility Survey, and our Rail Division is a rapidly expanding area of the business. With our headquarters in Ossett, West Yorkshire, and depots across the UK, QWM Group is well positioned to deliver innovative, compliant, and high-quality services nationwide. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven professional to grow our footprint in the rail sector, strengthen client partnerships, and play a pivotal role in the next stage of our journey. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager with a strong understanding of the rail sector and proven success in winning contracts and growing business streams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the rail sector
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring long-term partnerships
  • Work closely with the Rail Division to design and implement growth strategies
  • Represent QWM Group at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, tenders, and presentations in line with rail industry standards
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure services meet client needs and rail compliance requirements
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline, performance, and KPI achievement

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable track record in business development or sales within the rail, infrastructure, or utilities sector
  • Knowledge of RISQS accreditation, Network Rail standards, and rail compliance requirements
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation/closing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Well-networked within the rail industry, with the ability to open doors and build long-term relationships
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Highly organised with strong presentation and reporting skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
