We\'re looking for a technically minded SEO professional to take the lead on advanced SEO performance across a diverse range of client websites.
As Technical SEO Lead at Submerge, you\'ll be responsible for diagnosing, improving and scaling the organic visibility of high-traffic, multi-site and multi-territory websites. You\'ll work closely with our development, strategy and content teams to deliver measurable results and outstanding client experience.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who loves getting into the details – from crawl budgets to Core Web Vitals – but also enjoys translating technical issues into clear actions for clients and colleagues.

What you\'ll do
- Lead the technical SEO strategy, auditing and optimisation of client websites.
- Conduct full technical and on-page audits using tools like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Majestic, GSC and SEOcrawl.
- Identify and resolve crawl, indexation and site architecture issues.
- Advise on structured data, schema markup and international SEO (hreflang).
- Collaborate with developers on site migrations, redirects and deployment checks.
- Analyse performance data and create clear, insight-led client reports.
- Implement AI-supported workflows for auditing, analysis and reporting efficiency.
- Keep on top of Google\'s core and spam updates and translate them into client actions.
- Support Submerge\'s new business and pitch activity with technical expertise.
What you\'ll bring
- 4+ years\' experience in SEO, ideally within an agency environment.
- Advanced understanding of crawling, rendering, site speed and structured data.
- Experience with enterprise or multi-territory websites.
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and CMS platforms.
- Confident using Screaming Frog, GA4, GSC, Majestic, SEMrush and log file analysis tools.
- An analytical mindset and a love of solving complex SEO puzzles.
- Clear communicator who can translate data into accessible recommendations.
- Enthusiasm for exploring how AI workflows can enhance SEO research, analysis and implementation.
