What impact you will have: You’ll help ensure that global marketing efforts are closely aligned with consultative, solution-led sales approaches and broader business priorities. Your impact will be in bringing clarity, coordination, and strategic focus across teams and regions, so initiatives are well connected and drive meaningful commercial outcomes. This is a senior global marketing leadership role, reporting closely into the CMO, with significant autonomy to shape and run day-to-day marketing. The role plays a central part in evolving the company’s go-to-market approach as it shifts toward solution-led, account-based selling in a complex B2B environment.
What you’ll do:
- Global remit with responsibility across regions, not just Europe.
- Ownership or shared ownership of the global marketing budget, including planning, prioritisation, and ROI focus.
- Leadership of an existing distributed marketing team, with scope to evolve structure and capabilities over time.
- Oversight of agencies and partners (e.g. events, creative, digital, martech), without being overly vendor-dependent.
- Design and drive a global GTM and ABM strategy aligned to solution sales rather than pure product or volume demand‑gen.
- Elevate marketing execution across key pillars such as brand and positioning, high‑touch B2B events and forums, content and thought leadership, digital presence and website.
- Act as a close partner to sales and product/solutions teams, ensuring marketing supports complex, consultative deals.
Stakeholders:
- Internal: Work very closely with the CMO and regular collaboration with sales leadership, regional sales teams, product and solution leaders.
- External: External exposure to strategic customers, partners, and agencies, particularly in infrastructure‑led B2B ecosystems.
Early challenges & priorities:
- Assessing and strengthening a distributed marketing organisation.
- Defining and rolling out a clear, integrated GTM and ABM framework.
- Aligning marketing more tightly with solution-focused sales motions.
- Balancing global consistency with regional relevance, including strong awareness of the US market.
What success looks like:
- A clear, credible global GTM and ABM strategy in place.
- Strong budget discipline and data‑driven decision making.
- Noticeable uplift in quality and consistency of marketing execution.
- Positive feedback from sales and leadership on marketing’s impact on pipeline and strategic deals.
What you’ll need: A strong track record as a generalist marketing director or senior marketing leader (~10+ years), with experience in large, complex, global organisations. Background in complex B2B / technical environments (e.g. infrastructure, cloud, AI, telco, energy). Strong understanding of AI, cloud, data centers, infrastructure, energy, or telco sectors. Complex B2B environments with technical products/solutions. Able to lead and coach a geographically distributed team. Strong generalist: brand, content, events, digital, ABM. Comfortable operating strategically and hands‑on. Globally minded, commercially astute and able to lead through change. Comfortable in a fast‑changing environment, autonomous. Happy to travel internationally.
Our job titles may span more than one job level. The actual base pay is dependent on a number of factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
What we offer: Attractive compensation package reflecting your expertise and experience. A great work environment characterised by friendliness, international diversity, flexibility, and a hybrid‑friendly approach. You’ll be part of a fast‑growing scale‑up with a mission to make a positive impact, offering an exciting career evolution.
Our Inclusive Responsibility: Submer is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected category under applicable law.
