- Work closely with investment banks, financial advisors, legal counsel, investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders throughout financing processes.
- Develop and maintain investor-grade financial models, valuation analysis, funding scenarios, and capital requirements analysis.
- Prepare financial content for investor presentations, management presentations, Board materials, lender packs, data rooms, and due diligence requests.
- Support the CFO and executive team in discussions with banks, investors, shareholders, and strategic partners.
- Evaluate capital structure options and provide analysis on financing alternatives, liquidity needs, cash runway, and shareholder value implications.
- Coordinate internal workstreams during fundraising or strategic finance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of information.
- Group Strategic Planning and Business Planning
- Own and lead Submer’s group-level strategic business planning process, including long-term financial plans, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts.
- Translate company strategy, commercial priorities, operational plans, and market assumptions into a robust financial plan.
- Build and maintain integrated financial models covering P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, capex, and funding needs.
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analysis around revenue growth, margins, cash burn, production scaling, pricing, working capital, and investment requirements.
- Partner with commercial, operations, product, engineering, supply chain, and regional teams to ensure business plans are grounded in operational reality.
- Identify key risks, opportunities, and value drivers across the group and communicate them clearly to senior leadership.
- Executive, Board and Investor Reporting
- Prepare high-quality financial analysis and reporting for the CFO, CEO, executive committee, Board, shareholders, and investors.
- Develop clear, concise, and decision-oriented materials that explain business performance, strategic priorities, financial outlook, and funding needs.
- Lead the preparation of Board-level financial planning materials, investor updates, strategic reviews, and performance analysis.
- Ensure consistency between internal financial plans, external investor messaging, and strategic business objectives.
- Create dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting tools to improve visibility into group performance.
- Strategic Finance and Decision Support
- Act as a senior finance partner to leadership on strategic initiatives, commercial opportunities, market expansion, partnerships, and major investment decisions.
- Prepare business cases for new geographies, product lines, customer segments, manufacturing capacity, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
- Support M&A, corporate development, strategic partnerships, or inorganic growth opportunities where relevant.
- Provide financial insight on pricing, margin improvement, working capital optimisation, capital allocation, and operational scaling.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, financial governance, reporting quality, and decision-making discipline.

- Prior investment banking experience strongly preferred, particularly with exposure to fundraising, capital markets, M&A, strategic transactions, or financial sponsor processes.
- Proven experience building integrated financial models, long-range business plans, valuation analysis, investor materials, and Board-level presentations.
- Experience working directly with investment banks, investors, lenders, advisors, shareholders, and senior executives.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, fundraising processes, capital structure, valuation, financial statements, and business planning.
- Experience in a high-growth, international, private equity-backed, venture-backed, infrastructure, data centre, climate tech, energy, industrial technology, or hardware-related business is highly advantageous.
