Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role provides a professional generalist People Advisory service to both managers and staff on site. You will ensure all People processes are compliant with legislation and aligned with group policies, while supporting the business to attract, develop, and retain colleagues. With a friendly, service-focused approach, you will be a key frontline member of the Operational and People team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for People-related queries
  • Coordinate and support confidential employee administration
  • Advise management on employee relations, performance, and absence management, including long-term absence cases
  • Assist with case management and provide professional People guidance during formal processes such as absence reviews, investigations, disciplinary, and grievance meetings
  • Prepare formal letters and contracts for new and existing employees
  • Manage the internal time and attendance system and Workday platform, ensuring managers are effectively using payroll systems
  • Support end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with People and legal documentation
  • Promote strong communication, employee engagement, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Liaise with local Trade Union representatives to support positive employee and industrial relations
  • Support the management team and UK People team with ad-hoc tasks and project work as required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a People Generalist role with strong discretion handling confidential information
  • Strong People advisory and coaching skills
  • Experience using SAP HR, SAP Time and Attendance, and Workday is advantageous
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and work under pressure
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
