SubConnect are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of subsea telecommunications jointing products from concept through to release. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team and turn technical requirements into practical, manufacturable designs while supporting projects through key milestones, reviews, and delivery deadlines.
You will create concept models, assemblies, and engineering drawings in SolidWorks in line with company procedures and industry best practice. You will also support trial builds, produce related documentation including BOMs and Construction Manuals, manage drawing and component updates through formal change control, and maintain accurate records.
In addition, you will support production by responding to manufacturer queries, contribute to jointing and cable testing activities, help design tools and equipment, work to quality standards including ISO 9001 and ISO 17025, promote safe working practices, and assess the wider impact of design changes across documents, systems, and production activities.
Support the day-to-day management of projects from the design phase review process to the project completion against the project schedule. Work with the development team to perform early-stage design feasibility testing and confirmation. Aid the facilitation of regular design reviews with the team to ensure compliance of design process and delivery of product against relevant specifications, project deliverables, timescales.
