Responsibilities- Planning and preparation of global survey projects
- Mobilisation and calibration of survey vessels
- Acquisition of hydrographic and geophysical data using a variety of survey equipment
- Survey data processing and production of deliverables
- Report writing and interpretation of results
- Development of survey departments processes and procedures
- Creation of Project Execution Plans to encompass the contracted specifications
- Production of line plans for project planning and subsequent data acquisition
- Understands and enforces company's safety, environment and quality policies
- Reviews and updates Method Statements and Procedures as required
- Assists senior personnel with vessel mobilisations (positioning systems, multibeam systems and USBL systems)
- Data processing of bathymetry and navigation data
- Proficient at writing various survey reports (including Mobilisation, Operations, Results)
- Able to work to schedules and meet deadlines
- A proactive, flexible approach to achieving tasks
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Willing to work away from home for periods of 4 weeks, although periods away from home can vary from a few days to a few weeks
- Possession of a full, valid driving license
- 2+ years experience in a similar position
- A higher education degree in hydrographic surveying (ideally IHO Cat-A accredited) or related science-based subject
- Experience with a variety of survey equipment, including Kongsberg, NORBIT multibeam systems, positioning systems and USBL systems
- Knowledge of survey software for acquisition and processing, including QPS QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, BeamWorx AutoClean, Caris HIPS & SIPS, and Chesapeake SonarWiz
