Position Overview
A hybrid role involving office-based project preparation and production of deliverables and vessel-based geophysical data acquisition worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Planning and preparation of A-2-Sea survey projects
- Mobilisation and calibration of survey vessels
- Acquisition of geophysical data using side scan sonars, magnetometers/gradiometers, sub-bottom profilers, and grab samplers
- Survey data processing and interpretation using a variety of industry recognised software such as Chesapeake SonarWiz, Radex Pro, IHS Kingdom, Oasis Montaj, and GIS
- Report writing and interpretation of results
- Development of A-2-Sea's geophysical survey processes and procedures
- Proactive in making developing and improving methodologies and procedures
- Inputs technical detail into quotations and tenders
- Understands and enforces A-2-Sea's safety, environment, and quality policies
- Carries out data QA and QC throughout data acquisition
- Proficient at writing various survey reports (including Mobilisation, Operations, Results)
- Able to work to schedules and meet deadlines
- Validates/reviews and prepares deliverables prior to submission to the customer
Qualifications
- Familiarity with a variety of survey equipment, including Edgetech and Klein Side Scan Sonars, Geometrics G882 Magnetometers/Gradiometers, and Innomar Parametric Echosounders
- Sound knowledge of offshore geophysical survey data and industry software, including Chesapeake SonarWiz, Oasis Montaj, and GIS
- Experience in marine geophysical survey, ideally in the coastal zone
- A higher education degree in a geophysical or technically related subject
- Possession of a full, valid UK driving licence
- Valid offshore medical and sea survival certification
- Willing to perform site data acquisition involving time away from home on a regular basis
