Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned and highly organised UK Immigration Caseworker to join our team. In this role you will oversee all immigration casework, review and approve critical legal documentation, supervise and mentor junior staff, and contribute directly to business development. You will ensure that every case meets our rigorous quality and compliance standards, while also fostering client relationships and helping drive the firm’s growth.
Responsibilities:
- Casework Oversight: Supervise and manage the full lifecycle of all immigration cases handled by the firm. Monitor workloads, track progress, and reallocate resources to meet deadlines and service-level targets.
- Document Review & Approval: Review, amend, and sign off on all major case documents, Client Care Letters (CCLs), visa applications, supporting statements, and legal representations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Provide clear feedback and training on document-drafting standards.
- Team Leadership & Training: Mentor and line-manage junior caseworkers, paralegals and administrative staff, delivering on-the-job training and conducting six-monthly performance reviews. Foster a collaborative environment and uphold firm procedures.
- Client Relationship & Business Development: Act as point of contact for key clients, maintaining excellent communication and managing expectations. Identify and pursue business development opportunities through referrals, client testimonials, and networking.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all work adheres to current UK immigration law, SRA requirements, and the firm’s internal quality standards. Conduct periodic audits of case files to enforce best practices.
- Technology & Process Improvement: Utilise and champion our digital tools (Google Docs, Slack, case-management software) to streamline workflows. Propose and implement process enhancements to boost efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Data Protection & Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of client data in line with GDPR and firm policies. Lead by example in safeguarding sensitive information.
- Flexibility of Duties: Perform any other related tasks or roles as necessary in the best interest of the firm.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- UK Law degree (mandatory).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in private UK immigration casework, covering visas such as Skilled Worker, EUSS, Family visas, Global Talent, and Naturalisation.
- Proven track record of supervising or mentoring junior staff.
- Demonstrable business development or client-relationship experience.
- Impeccable written and spoken English.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise multiple complex cases.
- Proficiency in CRM and case-management systems, Gmail, Google Docs, and related office software.
- Self-driven, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development.
Desirable:
- Immigration-related accreditations (e.g., OISC Level 3, ILP qualifications).
- Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.
- Experience handling high-volume or corporate immigration caseloads.
